Intoxilyzer 9000 Recertification Class Information

If inclement weather conditions or unforeseen emergencies ultimately require cancellation of classes, their status will be designated as cancelled in the table below.  In addition, students will be notified via the email contact provided at the time of registration to alert them of any changes in class status.  We encourage students to check this website periodically for training updates.  Students who are ill or known to be contagious at the time of class are asked to reschedule their attendance for a later date.  Students who have significant health or safety concerns should understand the assumption of risks inherent to public gatherings prior to attending. While we will attempt to minimize the risk of exposure, we can not eliminate it. Students will need to provide their own PPE should they choose to utilize it. Operators who are uncomfortable with in person learning are encouraged to consider enrolling in an online Recertification class.  Our goal is to offer at least one online Recertification class each month. Online classes will delivered using Microsoft Teams and will require students to have access to devices equipped with a webcam and Google Chrome or other compatible browser.

Implied Consent Manager, GBI-DOFS

Purpose: Students attending this course will receive training on the current best practices for conducting evidential breath alcohol tests utilizing the Georgia Model Intoxilyzer 9000 and applicable operational and legal issues updated since the operator's prior certification. Upon successful completion of this course, the operator's permit will be renewed for a period of four years.

Where and When: This 4 hour course is usually scheduled for Thursdays from 8AM to 12PM.  It is typically offered once per month at the Georgia Public Training Center in Forsyth and once per quarter in the Regional Academies, though scheduling of classes is dependent upon demand.  A list of currently available classes can be found in the table below and on the Registration Form.

Who:  This course is only offered to current, active Intoxilyzer 9000 permit holders or individuals possessing an Intoxilyzer 9000 permit that has been expired for less than one year. (Note: Expired permits or permits issued by agencies other than GBI-DOFS are not considered valid for operation in the state of Georgia.)

How: In order to register for the Intoxilyzer 9000 Recertification Class, all students must complete the Class Registration Form.  This form should be filled out as completely as possible.  Failure to provide the requested information may result in an inability to process your registration request. Upon completion of this form a acknowledgement of receipt will be automatically generated. This is not a confirmation of acceptance.  An email confirmation will be sent to the registration contact as soon as the request is reviewed and accepted.  The link to the online  Registration Form can be found here. Please Note: If a Refresher class is cancelled a notification will be posted on this page at least 24 hours prior to the class start and all contacts will be notified via email.
