GBI Crime Lab for Officers
GBI CRIME LAB INFORMATIONAL AND TRAINING COURSES FOR OFFICERS
The crime laboratory offers two courses that should be of benefit to criminal investigators or crime scene investigators who submit evidence to the GBI Crime Lab for analysis. GBI Crime Lab for Officers – Module IThis course introduces students to the GBI Crime Lab and the various services it offers to the law enforcement community. Topics include overviews of evidence submission and handling procedures, the GBI Crime Lab’s public website and the secure case report website. The course also provides information about the Chemistry, Latent Prints and Firearms disciplines. Taught by crime lab personnel, student interaction is encouraged. Prerequisite:
GBI Crime Lab for Officers Module I
This course is a continuation of the overview of the GBI Crime Lab begun in Module I. Topics include Medical Examiner operations and the Questioned Documents and Digital Imaging, Toxicology, Forensic Biology and Trace Evidence disciplines. Taught by crime lab personnel, student interaction is encouraged.
