Cocaine School
The Cocaine Training Program (known in the Chemistry Section as Cocaine School) is a half-day course for law enforcement personnel. Cocaine School is taught by chemists as part of a week-long drug identification training program taught at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center.
During this course, chemists present the following information:
- history of coca and cocaine
- growth and harvesting of coca plants
- extraction of cocaine from coca leaves
- manufacture of cocaine and trafficking routes
- The Controlled Substances Act, drug Schedules, and cocaine's place in Georgia and Federal law
- manner of ingestion/use
- pharmacology of cocaine
- open floor/question-and-answer period
